Charleston Carriage Tours

The tour was amazing!! Daniel was a great and very informative tour guide and Gray Man was the sweetest horse!! 10/10 recommend!!

Awesome Day! Caroline is super friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us a fun view of Charleston. We have done many carriage tours and Caroline was one of the best. I only wish there was a way to know roughly where the tour goes ahead of time as we do the tour often and love seeing different parts of the city!

Perfect ride to enjoy city architecture and some local history. Our guide, the only girl, was amazing, funny and ready to answer all our questions. It was a one hour ride from the City Market, through 1700's and 1800's houses, churches and gardens.

The hospitality we were showed was extremely gentle and kind. The tour was education and comedic. I would do it 100 times over again.

We did enjoy our tour with Carolina Polo & Carriage Co, but there were some drawbacks that we wished we had known. Importantly, you cannot choose what things you see. The carriage gets assigned a numbered section by the city to control carriages(brilliant from a control standpoint, not so great from a tourist). While we did enjoy our guide, Caroline, we wished she had cut down on the jokes and focused more on the historical stuff. We also wished we didn't have to go through the college part of the route, because, simply, I don't care about the college. I want to learn about the houses and the history of the city.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience! Matthew was a fantastic tour guide - very informative and personable. You can tell he goes the extra mile to make his tours interesting. Our horse, Ironsides, was gentle and did a great job taking us around. Thanks so much for a memorable experience! Also, my advice: go early in the morning!

Caroline was awesome! She has a good sense of humor while incorporating all the key historical facts. She offered to answer any questions throughout the tour. I would totally do this again and for an additional 1-2 hours to be able to see and learn even more. Thanks Caroline for making our trip to Charleston memorable!

Caroline in Carolina are you kidding? Incredible. We spontaneously chose CP&CC after forgoing booking a tour in advance. The team was super friendly and took great care of us! I wish I knew as much about as anything Caroline does about Charleston. If you’re looking to do a carriage tour while in town, can’t recommend enough!

Best carriage tours in Charleston!

Fabulous tour by RT and Ironside (the horse) on Saturday March 1. A beautiful day made super special by a friendly and professional tour guide and horse. We’ve been on a half dozen carriage tours in Charleston and many in other places but this one was AMAZING.

Eric was wonderful. He was entertaining and knowledgeable! The horses are well taken care of. My family would go back again. Loads of history!

This Carriage ride was so fun! The tour guide had so much historical knowledge and delivered it with humor and fun! We got to see a large area of the city, which included beautiful and historic buildings and homes. The carriage was comfortable and the horse was well taken care of and beautiful. The sweet lady who answered the phones was kind and helpful too. There are several carriage companies to choose from but I would recommend this one without hesitation.

Absolutely amazing tour of Charleston!! Our guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining!! Our horse was beautiful and perfectly behaved!!! The office is on a side street downtown and is not as nice as some of the other carriage company ones but the people are! And our tour was awesome. The woman at the desk honored a coupon I found on Groupon by me just mentioning it which was lovely because I didn't have to go through the hassle of purchasing it on the site. She also recommended a nice coffee shop while we waited. Our tour guide's name I believe was Caroline and she was funny and full of interesting facts. This was my fifth carriage ride downtown - I usually bring my out of town guest on one and they always love the experience - and it was still just as interesting and great as the first time. Recommend 🙂

Thanks to John & crew we had the most memorable time touring through Charleston via horse drawn carriage. There are many carriage companies to choose from but I would choose this one again and again.
